For people with carpal tunnel syndrome, relief may come from surgical or non-surgical treatments. For example, medications, exercise, and alternative therapies (such as yoga) may be tried instead of surgery. All treatments are focused on relieving pressure from the median nerve.
When surgery is used to relieve the pain of carpal tunnel, either open-release or endoscopic surgery will be performed. Most people have success with the different types of carpal tunnel treatment, and recurrence of the condition is rare.
